Thursday Morning, October 4th
Well, I am at the airport waiting for my flight to Atlanta, where I will connect to Washington DC. I didn't sleep much last night. I woke up at 3:30 and couldn't go back to sleep. I looked through my suitcase one more time and took out more clothes. Our AMMF guidelines emphasized to travel light. I ended up with one medium-sized suitcase, one light garment bag, and my small carry-on (by carry-on standards). My laptop is so small and light that I can carry it in my purse. Bob and I took Nicholas to daycare and Nathan to school this morning and had time to hit the IHOP for breakfast. Nathan was OK. I think we had talked about the trip for so long that he was used to the idea. He asked last night if he could take a picture of me so he could remember what I look like. That was sweet and sad at the same time. Nicholas, who's two, doesn't know what's going on. Bob asked if I was nervous. I'm not really nervous. I've planned for so long, that I'm just ready! Once I'm in DC, there is a meeting at 3:30 and dinner at 7:00. I'll finally meet the other fellows. All for now - Dawn
