Washington DC arrival

Good ole' Chattanooga Airport!  The flight was delayed, so I missed my connecting flight in Atlanta.  Thankfully, there was a flight to DC just one hour later.  My luggage arrived to DC before I did.  Not sure how that happened, but I was thankful!

Because of the flight delay, I arrived to the first meeting of the fellows a little late.  Neil Sumilas and Liz Decker of the German Marshall Fund (GMF) gave the group a briefing about the program and the trip.  It felt a little bit like a reality TV show.  A group of 15 people traveling together to Europe for 3 weeks.  It's a cross between The Amazing Race and The Apprentice.  After the briefing, we had dinner at Restaurant Nora - America's first certified organic restaurant.  We had assigned seating.  I sat with a past fellow, GMF staff, and a couple of fellows that I'll be traveling with.

We have meetings most of Friday, and then we depart for Brussels at 6:00 PM.  Until then...
