About Brussels

Brussels is the headquarters for the European Union and NATO.  It is often referred to as the Capital of Europe.  It is a northern temperate region.  To the north of Brussels is Flanders (a flatland criss-crossed by canals) and to the south is Wallonia.  A dense train network connects all of Belgium.  The two languages spoken in Belgium are French and Dutch, although I've found that most people speak English as well.

Belgium is known for its chocolate, lace, and waffles.  Much like ice cream stands you would find in the States, there are waffle stands.  They are quite delicious!

In Brussels, there are areas of beautiful buildings such as the Grand Place.  The Grand Place is a group of public and private buildings dating back to the 17th century.

Here is another building - dates back to 15th century
