Tuesday in Brussels
Last night, Tom, Barbara, and I had a dinner meeting with Celia Azevedo, Assistant to a Member of European Parliament. She is from Portugal, so we went to a Portuguese restaurant called Restaurant Madredeus. It was quite good. I had grilled tuna with vegetables. Celia has just been awarded a European Fellowship for 2008, so she will be traveling to the states next year. We got back late. I am still adjusting to the 6 hour time difference - I'm very tired!
This morning, we left early to have breakfast with members of the European Parliament:
Paulo Casaca, Ignasi Guardans, Cem Ozdemir, and Manuel Medina Ortega. After breakfast, we had a briefing from the Advisor to the Prime Minister (Koert Debeuf). He spoke about the negotiations of a new government in Belgium. The Office of the Prime Minister was very nice.
Beth Locker (Atlanta), Darnella Robertson (Cleveand), and myself:

After lunch, we met with the director of the European Network Against Racism. Chris Neumann and I then went to the Directorate General Environment office. We met with Andre Zuber, Desk Officer, and Christina de Avila, REACH Program Expert. We discussed managing chemicals and air quality monitoring. It was a very interesting discussion.
