Last day in Lubeck
This morning, we went with Meggie to her church service at the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The church was built starting in 1888. After the service, we visited teh National Memorial for Seafarers . It is the only memorial of the civil seafaring. The exhibition shows the only remaining rescue boat of the ship Pamir that sank in 1957 during a hurricane. Eighty of 86 men on board died.
We then drove to Timmendorfer Strand, a beach community on the Baltic Sea. We ate lunch and did some shopping. We then drove back to Lubeck and later had dinner at Lubeck's most historic restaurant, the Schiffergesellschaft. The building is 800 years old.
